Enjoy freedom and friends as Tennessee Tech University's Homecoming 2001 events follow this year's theme "Taking Pride: Soaring with the Eagles."
Fan the flames of pride at the Homecoming Bonfire on Thursday, Oct. 4, beginning around 8:30 p.m., just west of the baseball field and ROTC climbing tower. The football team will be introduced, cheerleaders will cheer them on, and hotdogs and cokes will be available.
The Alumni Association will present its annual awards to outstanding alumni on Friday, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m., in the Roaden University Center's Multipurpose Room. At the same time, a pep rally will be held on the Main Quad in front of Derryberry Hall. (Memorial Gym in case of rain).
Homecoming activities fill the calendar for Saturday, Oct. 6, highlighted by the parade, EagleFest, and the football game:
- 10:30 a.m. Parade begins at 12th and Dixie, continuing south on Dixie.
- Noon-1:45 p.m. EagleFest. Make plans to meet friends at the tailgate party next to the tennis courts. Special ticket package: $8 for lunch and the football game. Lunch may be purchased on site for $6.
- 1:45 p.m. Pre-game show. A special program from the TTU Band.
- 2:00 Football game: TTU vs. Murray State University
Saturday's events also include a Sports Hall of Fame/Letterwinners Breakfast and a Golden Grads luncheon. The Admissions Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for prospective students and their families who would like to learn more about the university.
