Running through Sept. 14, Berger’s exhibit seeks to find common ground between the autonomous art object and the banal image.
Berger, who earned a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Minnesota and a master of fine arts from San Diego State University, uses the context of storytelling to focus on relationships as subject matter. The dynamics between couples or among groups of people is a theme that surfaces frequently in his work.
The Craft Center, a satellite campus of Tennessee Tech University, is located approximately six miles from Interstate 40. To get there, take Exit 273, then Highway 56 south toward Smithville, turning left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge.
