Myer will perform sonatas by Joseph Hayden and Franz Schubert, a section of the “Iberia Suite” by Isaac Albeniz and Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite.”
Myer has performed around the United States and Canada, as well as in Europe, Africa and Asia. He has won awards in competitions across the United States and in Canada and South Africa, including the gold medal from the 2008 New Orleans International Piano Competition, and awards from the 2007 William Kapell Competition in Maryland and the 2005 Busoni International Competition in Italy.
He also will offer a master class for TTU piano students at 11 a.m. Feb. 19. He frequently works as a guest artist at workshops for students and teachers, and has taught at the Oberlin College music conservatory, among others. He is a graduate of The Julliard School, and critics have called him one of the most outstanding pianists of his generation.
The concert is free and open to the public. The Bryan Fine Arts Building is located at 1150 N. Dixie Ave.
