Published: Thu Sep 30, 2010Hawkins County student Jessica Brumett was selected to be part of this year's President's Ambassador team at Tennessee Tech University.
A group of students both undergraduate and graduate who will act as positive examples of the university while offering assistance to students and guests, the President's Ambassadors will welcome people to campus and help answer any and all questions pertaining to the university. They will also serve at various university functions.
"This is a prestigious program at TTU, and I'm honored to work with the prominent young men and women who've been selected to participate. I'm very pleased to have their assistance," said TTU President Bob Bell.
Brumett, daughter of Gene and Ellen Brumett, is a senior nursing major from Surgoinsville. She graduated from Volunteer High School in 2007. She is a member of Alpha Pi sorority and scholarship chair of TTU Mortar Board. Brumett plans on working as a registered nurse after graduation.
The students in the group may also serve in a student advisory capacity to the president.
