Published: Wed Nov 5, 2003Tennessee Tech University’s office of International Student Affairs will host an International Fair in the OVC Room of the Roaden University Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
In celebration of International Education Week, the event will provide information about study abroad programs, international organizations and other international and intercultural enrichment opportunities at TTU.
Among the study abroad programs available at TTU are the International Student Exchange Program, the Magellan Exchange Program, the Mid-Continent Consortium for International Education summer program and the U.S. – Brazil Higher Education Consortium for environmental science students.
The fair will also feature representatives from the International Community Hospitality Association, which helps bring together local “host” families in the community with TTU’s international students to help introduce those students to the American culture.
Local businesses are also invited to participate in the International Fair by helping provide items that can be used for promotion and product giveaways.
“To help ensure that this unique event reaches its maximum audience, we are organizing product giveaways from local sponsors,” said Brian Mylrea, director of International Student Affairs at TTU. “Businesses that choose to contribute can be assured of receiving prominent recognition throughout this event.”
International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to exchange study experiences here.
