Published: Thu Jan 6, 2005Many people shy away from actively managing their retirement money, and that can be a costly mistake. To help community members take charge of their retirement accounts, Tennessee Tech University is offering a course, “Managing Your Retirement Money,” in February.
This course has been developed to help everyone from the uninitiated to the experienced investor. The non-credit course explains the pros and cons of investment alternatives available, when you should use them and how.
“This is a great opportunity to learn how to wisely manage and invest your hard earned monies for retirement,” said Tor Guimaraes, a TTU decision sciences and management professor who will lead the class.
Offered by TTU’s School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Extended Education, the class promises to provide objective advice in an environment that encourages questions and discussion.
The class will be held Mondays, Feb. 7-28, from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $50; the registration deadline is Jan. 27. To register, call 372-3304 or visit www.tntech.edu/isee/noncredit.htm.
