Published: Wed Apr 27, 2011Melody Allen presents her bachelor of fine arts senior thesis exhibition in ceramics, 'Kin', through May 1 in Gallery One of the Appalachian Center for Craft. The show includes sculptural and functional pieces with colorful decoration that is both whimsical and serious. The work "explores the connection between humanity, sculpture, and functional objects while bringing to life the fantastical world [her] mind lives in."
The artist will be in the gallery for the reception, held Saturday, April 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Appalachian Center for Craft is conveniently located approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at Exit 273 (Smithville /McMinnville). Go south on Hwy. 56; turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge. This drive leads to the Craft Center.
