Khoury’s metals exhibition, The New Ancient World, is a mix of his own original ideas and traditional techniques. His pieces are conglomerations of forged steel, hand-formed copper and found material. They evoke the mixture of a manmade environment with nature.
He will host a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the gallery.
All fine arts majors are required to host an exhibition during their senior year. The project is designed to teach them how to select works for a show, to design the show’s layout in the gallery space, and to showcase the best of their body of work over their years of study at the Craft Center.
The Appalachian Center for Craft is conveniently located approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at exit 273 (Smithville/McMinnville). Go south on Highway 56; turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge. This drive leads to the Craft Center.
