Tennessee Tech University's chapter of the American Association of University Professors is hosting the screening and discussion at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 7, in TTU’s Derryberry Auditorium.
"We will watch part of the documentary and then discuss implications and issues related to TTU, parents, students, and the community," said Tony Baker, an AAUP member and the discussion's moderator. "The piece raises national issues concerning the quality of teaching and learning, retention and graduation rates and the skills of those students who earn their diploma."
"Declining by Degrees" takes viewers to college campuses around the country to hear firsthand from students, teachers and administrators who provide candid insights of the national problems and challenges facing higher education in America. It attempts to explore the question: What happens between admission and graduation?
The public is invited to attend this free event.
