Margaret Cody, senior interdisciplinary studies student from Cookeville, has won several awards with Tennessee Tech University’s speech and debate team.

At the Buccaneer Parli Plunder Debate Tournament, Cody won third place in the team novice NPDA debate. The team’s coach Graham Kash, TTU communication professor, was given the Graham Kash Service Award. The tournament was April 5 at Eastern Tennessee Sate University’ Kingsport campus.

At the Tennessee Intercollegiate Forensics Association State Tournament, Cody won fifth in the persuasive speaking competition. The university team won third in the debate sweepstakes. The tournament was held March 29-30 at Middle Tennessee State University.

At the Northeast State Community College Novice Debate Tournament, Cody won the first place team award in the novice debate competition and the fourth place speaker award in novice debate. The tournament was held March 22 at Northeast State Community College.
