Published: Mon Oct 4, 2010If you are thinking of starting your own business, there is a lot you need to know. A free seminar Oct. 14 presented by the Tennessee Tech University Small Business Development Center can point you in the right direction
"How to Start a Business" is the title of the seminar that will be presented from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Oldham Theater in Sparta.
Led by Vicki Henley, director of the TTU Small Business Development Center, the seminar will address topics of interest to potential entrepreneurs and new small business owners.
Those topics include business start-up basics, business structures, challenges for startups, business planning, cash needs, financing options and more.
While the seminar is free, registration is encouraged and can be done by visiting the website at www.cookevillesbdc.org or calling the TSBDC's office at TTU at (931) 372-3292.
The TSBDC is a community outreach initiative of TTU's College of Business, and it is part of a network that operates statewide to assist the small business sector by providing free counseling to potential entrepreneurs and small business owners.
