thumb JustinWilsonState Comptroller Justin Wilson will deliver the fall commencement address at Tennessee Tech University.

Nearly 800 students from 72 Tennessee counties, 27 states and 13 countries will graduate in the 10 a.m. ceremony Dec. 14 in the Hooper Eblen Center. They represent nearly 40 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate programs.

Wilson was elected Tennessee’s 34th comptroller in 2009. The Nashville native was previously a partner in the law firm of Willer Lansden Dortch and Davis. He served as commissioner of the Department of Environment and Conservation and as deputy to the governor for policy under former Gov. Don Sundquist.

He is a graduate of Stanford University, New York University and Vanderbilt University School of Law, where is he is an adjunct professor.

The state’s 53rd park, Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail State Park, was named for him in 2002 in recognition of his “conservation and environmental contributions to the state.”
