Returning to the Tennessee Tech lifestyle feels right for the university's New Director of Alumni Relations Tracey Duncan.

As a graduate, loyal alumnus and faculty member's daughter with fond memories of campus, Duncan says she was excited to accept a position at the university where she can apply her sales and marketing experience.

"I'm looking forward to exploring new services and helping alums communicate with each other and the university," said Duncan, who earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Tennessee Tech in 1988. "I think the job of this office is to make alumni happy and to give them as many reasons as possible to enjoy staying connected to their alma mater."

Duncan has an extensive background in marketing and sales with Xerox Corp., Athena Neurosciences and most recently with L.W. Legge Agency in Cookeville. At the Legge Agency, she was the director of the Insurance Alliance of Tennessee, recruiting and training member agencies. She had also served as sales manager and marketing director.

Duncan distinguished herself as a student at Tennessee Tech. Her accomplishments include serving as a student alumni ambassador and president of Delta Gamma sorority as well as earning academic scholarships and membership in Mortar Board.

In her time away from Cookeville after graduation, she kept her ties to the university, participating in out-of-town alumni groups, serving as adviser for the university's Delta Gamma sorority, even subscribing to the Herald-Citizen to keep up with news while living in Raleigh, N.C.

Her community involvement includes being a member of Leadership Putnam's Class of 2000 and serving as the current membership chairperson of Cookeville's Business and Professional Women chapter.

An avid reader, Duncan also loves to sing and recently performed in "Night of Broadway," at the Thomas House in Red Boiling Springs. The daughter of agriculture professor David Narrie, she lives in Cookeville with her husband, Jeff, and three-year-old daughter, Delaney.
