The Tennessee Small Business Development Center at Tennessee Tech University will conduct a free seminar, “Word for Small Business” from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 2 in Johnson Hall, room 307.
This seminar will be the first in the Microsoft Office 2007 skills for small business series, which will cover the most important features of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
“TSBDC recognizes the small business need for free or low-cost training on the most common software products,” said Vicki Henley, director of TSBDC at TTU. “We offer this series to help small business owners learn the basics of Microsoft Office components.”
Gwen Paul, Program Assistant for TSBDC, will lead the training session, which will offer an opportunity for hands-on training in the use of Word 2007 software. Topics will include formatting documents, adjusting margins, templates, mail merge, brochures and fliers, among other things. Basic keyboarding and computer literacy skills are required but no prior experience with Word 2007 is necessary.
Due to limited class size, registration is required. To reserve a spot, call 931/372-3648, or visit www.tsbdc.org.
The TSBDC network provides free counseling and free or low cost training to entrepreneurs and small business owners and operates statewide to assist the small business community.
