TTU News

Beginning this month, Tiff Rector was named Tennessee Tech University’s associate vice president for University Development.

Rector has worked in TTU’s development office since 1994. He received a bachelor’s degreein accounting and an MBA from TTU and is a proud member of the Golden Eagle family.

“I am truly blessed to work for my alma mater and am deeply proud of what a strong institution TTU has become,” said Rector. “I have had the great fortune to work with many alumni and friends who share a similar love for our university. Helping these individuals translate this love into giving, which ultimately benefits our greatest assets, our students, is what makes this so rewarding to me.”

Since 1994, Rector has worked in the planned giving office, first as a coordinator, then the university’s director of planned, corporate and foundation giving and most recently as its director of planned giving.

“Tiff has been an integral part of this university since he came here as a student and will be a strong leader for our development team,” said J. Mark Hutchins, TTU’s vice president for University Advancement. “The relationships he has built across generations of Golden Eagles help to make TTU the tight-knit community it is.”

Rector was the university’s first planned giving development officer and has helped many individuals make transformational gifts, some as high as seven-figures. Under his leadership over two decades, the planned giving office has raised almost $10 million in funding for Tennessee Tech.
