The Tennessee Tech University Small Business Development Center will host two free seminars to help small business owners tackle two important issues: staying competitive and human resources.
The first seminar, “Staying Competitive in Today’s Economy,” will be presented 2 - 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Progressive Savings Bank, 1080 Interstate Drive, Cookeville. This seminar will give small business owners tips on how to carve out a target market and be the best at what they do.
The second seminar, “Human Resource Issues for Small Business,” will be presented 5 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, at TTU’s Johnson Hall, Room 403. This seminar will address several necessary issues for today's small business owner: human resources, payroll, benefits, workers’ compensation coverage and risk management.
Although admission is free for both seminars, registration is encouraged and can be done by visiting the web site at www.cookevillesbdc.org or calling the center’s office at (931) 372-3706.
The Tennessee Small Business Development Center is a community outreach initiative of TTU’s College of Business, and it is among a network that operates statewide to assist the small business sector by providing free counseling to potential entrepreneurs and small business owners.
