Published: Thu Nov 3, 2005Tennessee Tech University metals major Anna Quarles presents her bachelor of fine arts thesis exhibit in the North Windows Gallery of the Appalachian Center for Craft, Nov. 8-12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Her exhibition is inspired by both nature and fantasy, through which she shapes metal into beautiful vessels and pieces of jewelry. Copper, silver and gemstones decorate the pieces featured in the show.
Quarles uses her imagination to put into physical form the beauties of everyday reality, from fish and human forms to detailed textures. The three years of work she has put into the pieces is shown through the detail found in her work.
The Appalachian Center for Craft is located approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at Exit 273. Go south toward Smithville on Hwy. 56 and turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge.
