TTU News

Members of Tennessee Tech University’s chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers took first place in three out of four student competitions held at SME’s annual meeting in Cincinnati. TTU’s SME chapter won the Student Chapter Display competition, the Student Chapter Best Practices in Member Recruitment and Student Chapter Events Contest. The chapter was rewarded for innovative programs including their involvement with the region’s science fair. They developed the “Young Engineers Awards” to promote engineering education through science and math and served as judges to local science fair competitions. Chapter members Zane Moseley and Tamara Trotter both received $1,000 SME Education Foundation Scholarships.
