The recital will consist of compositions from Italy, Russia and Great Britain. Each piece represents its composer’s mature period of writing. The program will include Benjamin Britten’s “Canticle I,” a song cycle based on the writings of Francis Quarles, a 17th century Anglican priest, and compositions by George F. Handel, Peter Tchaikovsky and Francesco Tosti. The performance will include songs and opera arias.
Guest pianist Henri Venanzi will accompany Kennedy.
The concert is free and open to the public.
