Published: Thu Sep 30, 2010Williamson County student Joshua Aikens was selected to be part of the College of Business Student Ambassador's team at Tennessee Tech University.
Aikens is a junior finance and marketing major. He graduated from Franklin Classical in 2008. Aikens is a member of Phi Delta Theta, a resident assistant, student admissions representative, mentor associate justice in the TTU Supreme Court and part of Chi Alpha. He is the son of Gene and Faith Aikens, and grandson of Roy and Lyn Garby.
TTU COB students and the business student ambassadors hit the road each fall to visit high schools all over the state of Tennessee to talk to high school students about college readiness, to explain mastering the scholarship and college application process, and to spread the word about the benefits of being a business student.
COB Student Ambassadors are students from all business majors whose activities include assisting at college and university functions; recruiting new students through visits and correspondence; and promoting college spirit through events like Business Foundation meetings and homecoming activities. Ambassadors must be at least sophomores and have at least a 2.0 GPA. New ambassadors are selected each spring semester by an application and interview process.
