Mentoring is a dynamic process of building supportive faculty relationships to enhance professional growth and maximize individual potential.


    1. Establish trusting and nurturing faculty mentor: mentee relationships based on support, accountability and responsibility.

    2. Contribute to faculty morale by promoting a sense of community and cooperative network.

    3. Retain faculty members by acclimating them to the university and school of nursing culture through helpful professional relationships.

    4. Create a culture of lifelong learning to foster professional growth, development and networking.

Desired Outcomes:
The desired outcomes for the mentorship program include: retention of outstanding faculty; successful productivity of faculty; and mentor and mentee satisfaction in keeping with our strategic objectives. Additionally, the WHSON believes in the embodied engagement of faculty in a culture of mentorship that is valued.
