Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding undergraduate graduation.

Graduation Application Basics

How do I apply online for graduation?

The application is available in Eagle Online. The steps for submitting an application are available here.

How do I know when to apply?

Plan ahead and have conversations as early as possible with your advisor. Use your Degree Works audit to review your remaining graduation requirements and plan out your remaining requirements with your advisor in order to graduate your intended term.

I'm going on co-op (internship, study abroad, etc.) When do I apply?

Talk to you advisor. If you are planning on graduating within the year after returning from co-op, you need to apply for graduation before leaving. Otherwise you will be responsible for submitting the graduation application while away from campus.

Where do I enter the catalog year on my application?

By default, the online graduation application process uses the term that you entered the major as your catalog year. Please review your DegreeWorks audit BEFORE applying to confirm it is correct. If your catalog year does need to be changed, please do so BEFORE applying by submitting a change of major form to the Office of the Registrar.

I keep getting an error message, "No curriculum available." Why is this?

If you get this error message, it can mean one of three things: 1) you do not have the required minimum of 80 earned credit hours to apply; 2) you are applying to graduate from a non-degree program and need to change your major (e.g. Basic Business, Pre-Medicine, etc.) or 3) you already have an online graduation application on file.

How do I know if I've already applied?

Log into your Eagle Online and review your DegreeWorks audit. If you have submitted an online graduation application, it will be visible at the top of your degree evaluation in the student information section under your overall GPA.

I'm graduating in the Summer, which commencement is for me?

Summer graduates are included in the Fall commencement ceremonies with the December graduates. However your diploma will be mailed out in August at the completion of the Summer term and not in December. How do I register with a graduation hold?

Undergraduate Graduation Degree Analysis

What is the degree analysis?

A degree analysis lists all remaining requirements (e.g., General Education classes, degree coursework, overall GPA, major GPA, etc.) needed for completion of your academic program. It will be uploaded to your Eagle Online after processing and you as well as your advisor will be notified that it is ready via email.

I've applied for graduation, how do I get my degree analysis now?

All degree analysis are completed in the order in which the application were received, so the later you applied means the longer it will take for your analysis to be processed. You will receive an email notifying you that it has been processed and uploaded into Eagle Online.

I'm still showing requirements I've completed. Why?

Talk with your advisor and review your DegreeWorks audit. Make sure that all transfer credit you have earned has been applied to your transcript and that any course substitutions that you need have been filed by your advisor. If you still see requirements you do not understand, make sure that you and your advisor are looking at the correct catalog year for your major and have not overlooked any requirements.
