  The EPA Environmental Research and Business Support Program is searching for a Scientific Application and Database Developer to join the National Center for Computational Toxicology (NCCT), at the EPA facility in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The Developer will be responsible for providing application development and database programming support for the NCCT, which develops computational tools for improving environmental risk assessments and chemical safety regulatory decisions.

- Toxicity Reference Database Support Position
  The EPA Environmental Research and Business Support Program has an immediate opening for a Toxicity Reference Database Support position with the Office of Research at the EPA’s Research Triangle facility in Raleigh-Durham, NC. The selected candidate will provide data management, data curation and data analysis support to the ToxRefDB project. This is a combination of MySQL database management, NoSQL solutions, file management, data curation and extraction, quality control, as well as performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis. He/she will also be working with a number of heterogeneous toxicological datasets from other projects including ToxCast and Tox21. - Gas Sensor Engineer at EPA
  The EPA Environmental Research and Business Support Program is searching for a part-time Gas Sensor Engineer at the EPA facility in Raleigh-Durham, NC. The Engineer participates as part of a team developing a lightweight sensor/sampler-based system that would be deployed for aerial emission sampling on aerostats and UASs such as multicopters. Past field sampling applications have included at-sea oil fires, waste pile fires, prescribed forest burns, and open burning/open detonation of military ordnance.

- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is offering an 11-week summer undergraduate research fellowship program in Boulder, CO, and Gaithersburg, MD, for students majoring in science, engineering, and mathematics. Eligibility and other information can be found on the NIST SURF website. Dr. Duckbong Kim will host an informational session on the program at 2 p.m., 1/24/18, in Lewis Hall 101.
