Dr. Julie Pharr, professor of economics, finance and marketing, gave a presentation to the committee about the hardest part of the strategic planning process: implementing the plan. She emphasized the necessity of collaboration and a shared understanding of what you are going to do and what you are choosing not to do. Pharr guided conversation about the three focus areas and how to move toward forming goals and tactics.
The committee decided to take a fresh look at both mission and vision statement revisions to make sure they aligned with the strategic plan. The discussions focused on exploring where big, transformative goals could differentiate Tech. Technology, diversity, experiential learning, glob competitiveness, accessible life-long opportunities, adult education, and value were all topics of discussion.
