Proposed Itinerary for Tennessee Tech International Experience in Accounting

Friday, March 13 Depart for London. Meet at Nashville BNA Airport 2 hours prior to departure. Preferred Departure is afternoon. 
Saturday, March 14

Arrive at London Heathrow Airport around 7:00am – 9:00am   

Usually, the walking/bus tour starts at Westminster Abbey and includes things like St. James Park, Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (if possible), a walk through one of the markets, lunch at Covent Garden, etc.

We try to arrive at the Hotel before dinner time, at which time the tour guide leaves us.  Upon arrival at the hotel, the tour guide provides us our vouchers for the week and our tube passes.

We prefer to stay at the Copthorne Tara Hotel 

Sunday, March 15

Travel to Windsor Castle in morning. Return to London after lunch and go immediately to Tower of London. Evening ride on the London Eye.

Monday, March 16

The day’s activities include a visit to and tour of Lloyd’s of London and a visit to an international CPA firm.

Tuesday, March 17

Visit to Tower of London in the morning. Afternoon visit to British Museum and a presentation on the history of money. Visit to HCA Hospital, US Embassy, Institute of Taxation, or to London School of Economics for a presentation on the economic impact of Brexit. Evening Ticket for the Lion King at Lyceum Theater in London.

Wednesday, March 18

Coach (9 hrs) for full day excursion to Oxford. Morning guided tour of BMW Mini Cooper plant. After the visit continue to Oxford. Upon arrival, guide (2 hrs) for walking tour including entrance fee to Christ Church College. Evening table reservation at the Hard Rock Café (table reservation only – each person will pay for their own meal)

Thursday, March 19 Free Day for students and faculty (possible visits to Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Bath, Cambridge or other excursions for the group)
Friday, March 20

Visit Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales. Afternoon visit to Enterprise Rental HQ in Eggham (outside London).  Travel is by train and the visit is hosted by Tennessee Tech alumnus Leigh Ann Lafever-Ayer, Director of HR for UK and Ireland. (arranged by us)

Saturday, March 21 Return to Nashville. Transportation from Hotel to Heathrow
