The primary mission of the Gifts/Records and Stewardship Center (GRSC) is to support fundraising for the university by acquiring and maintaining accurate data, and facilitating stewardship of gifts. The three primary areas within the Gifts/Records and Stewardship Office are: gifts/pledges processing, records update and maintenance, and stewardship.
A gift is defined as funds or property voluntarily given to the University with no expectation of return or compensation on the part of the donor. (Unlike a grant, which is recorded/reported through the Research Office, where the sponsor retains rights or control of the funds usage, and may stand to benefit from the results generated by the expenditure.)
The GRSC is responsible for officially recording and acknowledging receipt of all gifts including checks, cash, pledges, securities, trusts, insurance policies, real estate, gifts-in-kind and other donations to the University, University Foundations or any part of the University.
Records Update and Maintenance
GRSC staff are accountable for all updates to constituent’s records in the Raiser's Edge (RE) alumni data management system. Raiser's Edge contains records for all alumni, as well as donors and companies that either donate money to the university or contribute through a matching gift program. We must continually update every aspect of this data. This information is used for various communications with our constituents, as well as to facilitate fundraising efforts for the university.
We must foster and facilitate communications with our constituents relating to not only gift income and pledges accountability, but to help ensure good relations with our constituents.
The GRSC is located in Derryberry Hall Room 201. Questions should be forwarded to John Smith.
