Since 1993, it has been the tradition for each Golden Grad class to present a class gift to the university. To mark this momentous occasion in our lives, the reunion committee has chosen to help restore the old Pep Truck. You may not be aware, but Tennessee Tech sold the truck in the mid-90’s. A year ago, the truck was found, purchased by the Alumni Association, and has returned to campus.
Initial restoration efforts made the truck operational, but much work remains in order to restore the truck to how we remember her. Volunteers have graciously offered their time, but supplies and parts must be purchased before restoration work can begin. That’s where the class of 1968 comes in! We are asking all members of our class to make a gift towards the restoration of the Pep Truck so that generations of Tech students to come will have similar memories to those we share. Please know all gifts, regardless of size, will make a significant impact on this project. For instance:
- A $1,000 investment would provide new glass for the windows and windshield
- A $500 investment would replace the engine
- Four investments of $200 would replace the transmission
- Five investments of $100 would replace the lights
Working together, I know we will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
