Undergraduates who want to pursue research and creative activities now have a new resource for grant funding, and applications can be submitted now.
The URECA! (Undergraduate REsearch and Creative Activity) Program will provide monetary assistance through academic year mini-grants, summer grants with stipends, and travel grants for students and their accompanying faculty mentors. Research should be directed by a faculty member within the University, but it can be conducted independently, on a team, and or in an outside facility.
The Undergraduate Research Steering Committee is now accepting applications for URECA! Program grants. The mini-grants are for the academic year with a maximum award of $1,000, and the summer grants are for a maximum of $4,000, including a stipend. Undergraduate researchers and their faculty mentors can also apply for travel grants. The deadline for all Spring Semester 2012 grants is March 16 at 4:30 p.m.
