As we move toward the end of the semester, campus renovations continue to move forward. Though much of the most visible work is taking place on the Main Quad, a five-year plan is guiding extensive renovation plans all over campus.
Here's an update of what you are seeing now and what you can expect in the near and distant future.
Several Buildings Upgrade/Phase 1 was completed last fall. It included specific classrooms in TJ Farr and Johnson Hall, along with the Pennebaker and Prescott Auditoriums.
Also this summer, workers will begin focusing on Foundation Hall, preparing existing classrooms for use as surge space—rooms in which classes can be held while other buildings undergo renovation.
Several Buildings Upgrade/Phase 2, renovation of classrooms in Henderson Hall, is nearing completion.
Several Buildings Upgrade/Phase 3 is the completion of Henderson Hall, primarily focusing on offices, as well as the completion of TJ Farr classrooms and offices.
After these phases, work will move to South Hall, which is scheduled for classroom and office renovation. That work will be followed by similar work in Kittrell and Bartoo.
Changes are underway to several other buildings beyond those academic buildings on the Main Quad. On June 1, residence hall renovation will begin on Pinkerton and Cooper Halls. Also Phase 2 of Tech Village renovations will get underway.
Renovations to the former Regional Health Building, which will be revived as Southwest Hall, will begin later this year.
