Putnam County’s 2010 full scale disaster drill will be held Wednesday, Sept. 15.
This year’s drill will be weather related - a tornado strike affecting Cookeville Regional Hospital, the Regional Health Facility and Tennessee Tech University.
In the event of inclement weather, the drill will be postponed until Sept. 22.
This drill will test various capacities of local emergency response agencies and TTU's emergency procedures and capacities. As in a real event, these activities may result in significant interruptions of campus activities on that day.
Though at this time we are unaware of the extent and manner these impacts will take, it is recommended that instruction for this day is planned that will allow for the potential evacuation or relocation of classes.
All units in affected areas will be expected to fully participate as required. Exceptions from participation must be compelling and sought from the President’s Office or Provost’s Office as appropriate.
Further information will be provided to all Building Coordinators prior to the drill.
For more information, contact Jim Cobb, TTU director of Safety and Environmental Services.
