Published: Thu Oct 8, 2009The students of the Saudi Student Club at Tennessee Tech have invite campus and community to celebrate Saudi National Day at a campus reception and program on Friday, Oct. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room.
The event marks the anniversary of the founding of the kingdom in 1932 when King Abdul Aziz unified the country under one flag.
There are about 90 Saudi students at Tennessee Tech pursuing degrees in a variety of disciplines. Many are studying under a scholarship program sponsored by King Abdullah to not only provide education to the kingdom's youth but to increase the health of the U.S.-Saudi relationship.
The event will feature food, traditional dance demonstrations, prizes and games.
