The deadline for applications for Cookeville Rotary Club scholarships has been extended to 4 p.m., Monday, April 21.
The organization will offer a $1,000 and a $2,000 scholarship for the 2014–2015 academic year.
Applicants must be currently enrolled Putnam County high school or home school students, or must have graduated from Putnam County high schools or home schools, and must not have a parent or guardian who is a Rotarian.
Applicants for the $1,000 scholarship must be high school students who will graduate by June 2014, and have gained admission to and plan to enroll full-time at TTU during the 2014–2015 academic year.
Applicants for the $2,000 scholarship must be currently enrolled full-time at TTU and plan to enroll full-time at TTU for the 2014–2015 academic year.
Eligible applicants for either scholarship must submit: a resume that includes information about academics, service, leadership, and extracurricular activities; an essay of no more than 500 words that describes educational and personal goals, and the financial needs for attending college; two letters of reference (at least one academic); and up-to-date high school or college transcripts.
