This is to solicit your help in identifying outstanding seniors on our campus who could be considered for the 2014 Derryberry Award. These students would encompass individuals who graduated in December 2013 and those who are scheduled to graduate in May or August 2014. This prestigious award is presented in accordance with the following guidelines:

A plaque and cash award are presented annually to a graduating senior who has exhibited scholastic attainment arising out of moral and intellectual integrity; successful campus activity where participation indicates a commitment to good citizenship, interest in one's fellow person, and instincts for leadership; and physical vigor as shown by fondness for and success in sports--all of which demonstrate potential for future service and effective leadership in American society.

As you may know, this award was established in honor of the late Dr. Everett Derryberry who retired in 1974 after 34 years as president of the university.

Nomination materials are available on the TTU webpage. A blank nomination form and a template to use as a guide when completing the form can be found at: For the sake of consistency and ease in scoring, we recommend that all nomination materials are prepared in the format used in the template. Your nominations should be forwarded to Debbie Combs no later than Friday, Feb. 21. Materials can be emailed to, mailed to TTU Box 5007, or delivered to Derryberry 206. An ad hoc committee will review all nominations, interview finalists, and select the 2013 recipient.
