  • Congratulations to Rebecca Violet on passing her Certified Administrative Professional Exam! Rebecca currently works in Curriculum & Instruction’s SPED office. 
  • Congratulations to Lisa Brown, academic advisor in the College of Interdisciplinary Studies (COIS), who attended the WHET annual conference and was nominated to serve as a board member for 2016-2017.
  • Congratulations to Susan Collins , who works in the Office of Teacher Education and also teaches American Sign Language for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies. She has received the Ambassador of the Month Award for October.
  • Congratulations to Olivia Newman on passing her Certified Administrative Professional Exam! Olivia currently works in Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Congratulations to Amy Hill on earning her Ed.S. in Educational Psychology while balancing numerous personal and professional responsibilities.

Creative and Research Activities

  • Congratulations to Dr. Raquel Rodriquez! Dr. Raquel Rodriquez, Assistant Professor of Trumpet in the Music Department, performed in a small orchestra on stage with Adele at The Palace of Auburn Hills (Auburn Hills, MI) and Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia, PA) from September 6-10, 2016. Dr. Rodriquez also performed with the Seraph Brass Quintet in a Midwest Tour (WI, MN, IA) from September 19-28, 2016. Please reference her site here: http://www.solotromba.com/home/
  • Congratulations to Professor Ann Lewald on her accomplishments: (1) her numerous publications, including a poem entitled "New Orleans" in a book called Hurricane Blues, (2) her invitation to two Oxford Round Tables, and (3) her latest publication of Under the Sun, which appears online in a journal of creative nonfiction.
  • Congratulations to Dr. Shana Nicholson, adjunct faculty in the Masters of Professional Studies - Public Safety concentration, for her recent presentation at a regional conference (see the following) and her completion of an Open Dive certification for search and rescue diving.   • Congratulations to Drs. Brashears and Ogbomo in Curriculum and Instruction on the publication of their book chapter entitled, "Using Children's Multicultural Picture Books to Combat Bullying." The chapter is part of the text entitled, Collaborative Spaces for Socially-Just Anti-Bullying Interventions for K-12 School, edited by Osanloo.   • Congratulations to the College of Interdisciplinary Studies! They were recently awarded a TBR Grant entitled, "Impact Adult Learning: Building a High-Impact Career-Ready Adult Learning Community for Degree Attainment" for $25,000. The PI in COIS is Interim Dean Alice Camuti, and the co-PIs are Jeannie Smith and Tammy Keylon, COIS Student Success Center.
  • Congratulations to Jeannie Smith and Tammy Keylon on their upcoming presentation on November 10, 2016, in Albuquerque, NM. They will be presenting at the annual National Conference American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE). The topic of their presentation is on implementation of a 2+2 Bachelor of Science Degree.
