Merchandising and Design Attend Big Show Convention in New York City

Dr. Jewon Lyu, Instructor of Merchandising and Design in School of Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University, and three student representatives from Merchandising and Design Program recently attended the 104th National Retail Federation Big Show Convention in New York City, NY.

This convention attendance was fully sponsored by the Provost Office. Dr. Lyu and Dr. Liz Mullens, Dean of College of Agriculture and Human Ecology, presented the proposal entitled “The Golden Eagle’s Next Big Show: Creating Connections among Students, Community, and Professionals to Soar High.”

By attending this convention, Dr. Lyu and student representatives have learned the latest retail technologies and trends from the industry experts. With this great opportunity, Dr. Lyu will develop a soar high strategic plan that can help students, faculty, student clubs on campus and local retailers.

National Retail Federation (NRF) is the one and only worldwide trade association that connects and supports retail professionals, educators, and students. The NRF hosts an annual convention in New York City to provide unforgettable networking, learning, and sharing opportunities with more than 33,000 industry professionals.
