Ann Boyd Davis

Dr. Ann Boyd Davis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting. She joined the TTU faculty in 2012 after spending two years at Clemson University. She received her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee in 2010. Dr. Davis graduated in 2001 with her MAcc degree with a concentration in Taxation from the University of Tennessee. She graduated from TTU 2000 with BSBA degrees in Accounting and Finance. Prior to obtaining her Ph.D., she worked with Arthur Andersen, LLP and Ernst & Young, LLP in the Chattanooga, Tennessee, offices and left as a Tax Manager in the Federal Tax Consulting practice. Dr. Davis holds both the CPA and the CGMA. Her research interests include the effects that federal tax legislation has on state tax policies, revenues, and economic climates. She also enjoys research focused on improving classroom experiences and learning and has recently examined financial literacy in elementary and college students. Her research has been published in Behavioral Research in Accounting, the Journal of the American Taxation Association, Advances in Accounting Education, Advances in Taxation, Tennessee CPA Journal, and State Tax Notes. In 2019, Dr. Davis received Tennessee Tech’s College of Business Excellence in Overall Performance Award. Dr. Davis serves as the Working Group Chair of Exceptional Stewardship for the University Strategic Planning Process as well as numerous other service activities.
