Olivia Jolley, an alumnus of the Tennessee Tech University honors program, received her bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in literature from Tennessee Tech in 2015. As an undergraduate, she studied in Germany and France as part of her coursework in language and history; she also did an intensive five-week study of culture and history in Poland. Following her international studies, she returned to TN Tech to earn a master’s degree in English in 2017 while working as a graduate assistant. As a graduate assistant, she participated in conducting research, taught English composition courses for freshmen, and wrote her thesis on the works of JRR Tolkien.
Olivia currently works in the College of Business Student Success Center as an academic advisor, where she enjoys working one-on-one with students. In her spare time, she volunteers for local animal rescues, specifically adoring time spent with cats. When she is not on campus, she likes to read, write, play Dungeons and Dragons, and travel with her husband. In addition to two cats, four chickens, and a chinchilla, Olivia is looking forward to adding her first child to the menagerie in fall of 2020.
