Dr. Robert Wilbanks is an associate accounting professor and teaches courses in managerial and cost, and government and not-for-profit accounting. He is also a licensed CPA in Tennessee and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He has over 20 years’ experience working in public accounting (auditing) and in industry. While in industry, Dr. Wilbanks worked as a comptroller/financial controller at companies in the banking, fast food, manufacturing, and public water utility fields. Dr. Wilbanks earned his DBA (Doctorate in Business Administration) degree, with a concentration in accounting, at Kennesaw State University. He also holds an MBA in business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a BA in economics from the University of the South (Sewanee). His research interests include topics in corporate governance, government, and management, and he has published in both academic and practitioner journals. He is also a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA), Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and American Accounting Association (AAA).
