Dr. Zhan is interested in understanding the mechanisms of arrestin-mediated signaling. His group will place a strong emphasis on reconstructing the interested pathways with purified proteins. A combination of biochemical, biophysical and bioanalytical approaches will be employed to explore the dynamic movements, post-translational modifications, and protein-protein interactions in these signaling pathways. Particularly, the group is focusing on two research areas: (1) the molecular mechanisms of Mitogen activated kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) activation; (2) the regulation of arrestin in MAP Kinase cascades.
