Dr. Williams (Ph.D. University of Wisconsin, 2011) specializes in contemporary American fiction, with a particular focus on war and trauma literature. He teaches courses in 20th and 21st century American literature, trauma literature, war literature, Native American literature, and environmental literature. His current research centers on representations of America’s war with Iraq, specifically how writers are revising and critiquing past trends and traditions in war writing, in an effort to diversify and broaden the American war canon. He has published in American Literature, Critique, Texas Studies in Literature and Language, and Women’s Studies. He is currently serving as the department’s Director of Graduate Studies.
