Kristin Pickering directs the undergraduate and graduate programs in Professional and Technical Communication. Her research interests include professional identity construction, rhetorical genre theory, ethics in technical communication, interdisciplinary communication, and oral communication. Recent articles appear in the Journal of Technical Writing and Communication, Business and Professional Communication Quarterly, and Technical Communication Quarterly. 

Her book, Environmental Preservation and the Grey Cliffs Conflict: Negotiating Common Narratives, Values, and Ethos, was published in 2024 by Utah State University Press.
