Mezzo-soprano Diane Pulte, currently serving on the voice faculty of Tennessee Technological University has held teaching positions at Otterbein College, Kenyon College, Muskingum College, and The Ohio State University. She has performed various roles with The Dallas Opera, Opera Columbus, Asheville Lyric Opera and Columbus Light Opera including Der Rosenkavalier, Madame Butterfly, La Traviata, Rigoletto, The Gondoliers, Carmen, The Mikado, Susannah, A Little Night Music, Le Nozze di Figaro and the Ohio premier of Mark Adamo’s Little Women. She has also performed as soloist in many oratorial and symphonic works throughout the United States including Mozart's Requiem, Igor Stravinsky's Le Noce, Respighi’s Il Tramonto, and J. S. Bach's St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion and Magnificat. A native of Texas, she received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas, her Master of Music degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from The Ohio State University where she studied voice with Dr. Karen Peeler. Other voice teachers have included Scharmal Schrock and Laural Miller, plus she studied operatic interpretation with Dr. Noel Koran, Paula Homer and Dr. Dennis Wakeling. Ms. Pulte also studied abroad at the American Institute of Music in Graz Austria where she studied with Beaumont Glass and Bodo Igesz. Ms. Pulte was regional finalist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in the years 1997 and 1998, and finalist in the Meistersinger Competition Austria, 2000. She is an active soloist, recitalist and chamber collaborator.
