About

Meagan Prewitt is the Adjunct Professor of Oboe at Tennessee Tech University, where she is also principal oboe with the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Cumberland Quintet. Meagan resides in Nashville, TN, where she is principal oboe of the Nashville Civic Orchestra and frequently performs with the Jackson Symphony as a member of its oboe section. An active freelancer throughout the greater Nashville area, Meagan also maintains a private teaching studio and offers oboe and reed-making lessons. In addition to her performing and teaching activities, Meagan serves as an orchestra librarian assistant with the Nashville Symphony. 

Prior to moving to Nashville, Meagan was a member of the United States Army Europe and Africa Band and Chorus, where she served for three years and was stationed in Germany. During her time with the ensemble, she toured more than twenty countries with the Concert Band and Woodwind Quintet, received numerous awards for her service and musicianship, and performed as a soloist during the annual fall tour. Meagan also worked as music librarian for the Band and Chorus. 

Meagan holds a Master of Music degree in Oboe Performance from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Richard Killmer and a Bachelor of Music degree in Oboe Performance from Vanderbilt University, where she studied with Jared Hauser.
