About

Amanda Powell is the Producer at iCube, primarily ensuring virtual reality (VR) projects match the abilities of the development team while meeting the needs of clients in industry, the community, and across campus. She is also responsible for helping implement new initiatives in the office, including various educational campaigns, app development projects, and websites by working with diverse teams of iCube employees and students to generate ideas and develop wireframes of proposed projects for review and eventual product creation. This work has led to completed and continued projects in the fields of health visualisation, traffic safety education, environmental experiences, and experiential learning, to name a few. 

Amanda has a passion for VR research, and is currently pursuing her doctorate through the Exceptional Learning PhD program at Tennessee Tech University. Her interests include VR for behavior change and environmental conservation, experiential learning in the classroom, first-time user experiences, and the use of technology in art and literature instruction. She is also currently a member of the Tennessee Entertainment Commission’s Interactive Digital Media Advisory Council.
