About
As Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Latour provides leadership and academic oversight for more than 800 employees across eight colleges and schools, 32 academic departments, and more than 20 support units. These academic units offer Tennessee Tech students over 200 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs. He is also responsible for overseeing 28 academic buildings encompassing more than one million square feet of instructional and research space.
As Provost, Dr. Latour is committed to advancing academic excellence across both face-to-face and online programs while promoting student success, innovation, community engagement, a supportive learning environment, and value creation. He works closely with deans, department leaders, faculty, and staff to develop and implement strategic initiatives that elevate the University's reputation and impact. A key focus of his leadership is communicating the Tennessee Tech story—highlighting why the University is a destination of choice and distinction for students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
Dr. Latour is also a Professor of Animal Science with expertise in lipid physiology. His research focuses on the characterization of lipids in meat products and their influence on meat quality and composition.
