New Harper Scholars Program provides scholarships for female engineering students

Tennessee Tech is offering a new undergraduate scholarship program to support female engineering students pursuing electrical engineering, computer engineering or mechanical engineering degrees.

Recipients of the scholarship will be known as “Harper Scholars” and will have the opportunity each semester to meet with the Tech alumna who established the scholarship.

Incoming freshmen must have a 3.75 high school GPA and 27 ACT composite score, and preference will be given to female students from Tennessee. The scholarship may be renewed for up to eight semesters.

In combination with other scholarships and financial aid, the Harper Scholars Program will cover all remaining tuition, fees, room, board, parking and books for the students selected. This scholarship is the first of its kind for Tech, and the university looks forward to encouraging more young females to enter the engineering profession.
