Chemical Engineering is a respected and ideal profession for modern times and dynamic changing markets. It is broad and adaptable to a large family of businesses (i.e., petroleum, environmental, biotechnology, biomedicine, pharmaceutical, materials, food and others). Rooted in basic sciences, chemical engineering is mainly concerned with the design, scaling (up or down), operation and control of the transformation and separation of raw materials into valuable products. Bio-molecular engineering combines knowledge of biological processes and chemical engineering knowledge to solve challenges in health, energy and the environment. Students learn to design, scale and optimize biologically based processes – from bio-separations and pharmaceuticals to biofuels and biomaterials. This concentration prepares graduates to create innovations such as medical devices, delivery systems and sustainable biological solutions.
