The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) concentration is prepares nurses for advanced practice to provide comprehensive psychiatric-mental health care across the life span to individuals, groups and families in diverse settings. Graduates of this concentration are eligible for national certification as a PMHNP.

Admissions Requirements

Students seeking admission to the Master of Science in Nursing program are required to have:

    1. Licensure: Unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Tennessee or in the state in which your clinical assignments will be completed;
    2. Bachelor’s GPA: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with an overall GPA of 3.0. Provisional admission for students with below a 3.0 may be considered only on a case-by-case basis.
    3. Statistics: Completion of or planned enrollment in a statistics course.
