Tennessee Tech to host 'Innovator Day' on Feb. 9

Tech is partnering with LaunchTN to host "Innovator Day" on Friday, Feb. 9.
Tennessee Tech University is collaborating with LaunchTN, a nonprofit organization
supporting the startup ecosystem in Tennessee, to host an “Innovator Day” on Friday,
Feb. 9 for Tech's research community and members of the public.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. in Prescott Hall, room 225. At 12:30
p.m. the event will provide attendees a short break before reconvening at 3:00 p.m.
at The Biz Foundry, 114 N Cedar Ave, Cookeville for the rest of the day's programming.
Michael Aikens, director of Tech’s Center for Rural Innovation, described Innovator
Day as "a gateway to numerous of-no-cost programs” that will unlock opportunities
at "both the university and state levels.”
Aikens added that, “attendees will gain access to invaluable resources and funding
sources, propelling their innovative ideas from the lab to the market.”
Presentations are designed to cover the grant and funding opportunities open to attendees,
how Tech can support community innovation and more. The event will close with a networking
reception that will feature support personnel, research collaborators and others who
can potentially assist local innovators.
