Tennessee Tech welcomes local high school students to “Tech After Dark”

Students gather on Tech’s Centennial Plaza for a previous evening event.
Tennessee Tech University will open its campus to local high school students for an
exclusive preview night at “Tech After Dark” on Thursday, Nov. 7 beginning at 7 p.m.
The free event offers prospective students and parents the chance to see a different
side of campus life at Tech, including special sneak peeks at labs, demonstrations
and locations not typically seen on the regular campus tour.
“Tennessee Tech is a campus community brimming with life, even after our regularly
scheduled daytime campus tours end,” said Ted McWilliams, assistant director of admissions
at Tech. “Students want to know that they will be able to find community and activities
in their evening hours on our campus, so we’re excited to host this exclusive preview
night to help local high schoolers truly get a sense of all that Tech has to offer.”
Tech After Dark will kick off with registration at Bell Hall Auditorium, after which
students can enjoy expanded campus tours and parents will be able to find out information
about admissions processes, scholarship programs, financial aid, housing, support
services and more. The program will also include a panel of current Tech students
who grew up in the Upper Cumberland and chose Tech as their hometown university.
The event comes as applications are now open for fall 2025 admission. The priority application deadline for scholarships is Dec.
15.
Tennessee Tech is ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report.
The university offers more than 225 programs of study and Tech grads leave with the
least debt of all public universities in the state. In fact, based on total cost and
alumni earnings, Tech provides students with the highest return on investment for
any public university in Tennessee, according to PayScale.
